WHAT IS A FIRE DOOR?
A Fire Door is a door with a fire-resistance rating used as part of a passive fire protection system to reduce the spread of fire or smoke between compartments and to enable safe egress from a building.
A fire rated doorset comprises of a door frame, door leaf and various hardware that can include handles, locks, closers, vision panels and air grilles. All fire rated doorsets must be self closing and self latching with approved hardware to be certified, and once correctly installed is issued with a tag for the door.
